From my garden to the canvas, I believe in art that heals us and the land.
I grow dye plants like Indigo and Red Hopi Dye Amaranth in my garden—or harvest soil or invasive plants in my region—to create natural dye, pigment, and Earth-friendly art supplies.
Using only natural fibers, I tuft rugs, pillows, and more soft home goods and upcycle paper into functional design.

About Madder Root:
For over 5,000 years, dyers have used the roots of the madder plant (rubia tinctorum) to create a wide range of reds, pinks, yellows, and oranges. The plants takes 3-4 years to fully mature before the roots can be harvested.

About Logwood:
The bark of the logwood tree (Haematoxylum campechianum), native to Central and South America, is used to create rich purples and blacks. Indigenous peoples like the Maya, Aztec, and Nahua used logwood long before Spanish colonizers shipped it to Europe in the 1500’s.
