My Story
My practice centers on the relationship between material, place, and ecological memory. Working in watercolor, fiber, and natural dye, I create pigments from plants, soils, and invasive species that I gather from my environment. These living materials shape the palette of my work, grounding each piece in the specific ecologies from which it originates.
Working exclusively with natural fibers, I tuft textiles that highlight the tactile presence of handmade objects. By transforming discarded paper into functional forms and producing my own pigments, I close the loop between creation and decay allowing each work to harmlessly return to the earth.
My process emerged from a desire to counter the waste and disposability embedded in contemporary life. Through regenerative craft and slow material practices, I explore cycles of transformation and the quiet intelligence of natural systems. My work asks how art can operate within, rather than outside of, the ecological realities that surround us.
My pieces function as artifacts of an ongoing dialogue with land, labor, and impermanence. Objects that invite viewers to consider material not as resource, but as relationship.
